God usually refers to what monotheists believe to be an omnipotent being, usually attributed with creating the universe, or else sustaining it. A majority of people believe in God, especially the Abrahamic God, as do Christians, Jews, and Muslims. Mankind has believed in God for thousands of years, most notably the Jews, who have followed Him for over four thousand years. In religions that have more than one god, our polytheistic religions, God usualy is one of the male gods they believe in.
