Jews (Hebrew: יְהוּדִים, Yehudim; Yiddish: ייִדן, Yidn) are followers of the religion Judasim. There are between 12 and 14 million Jews, mostly living in the US or Israel. In the Hebrew bible it says that they are the chosen people of God.
Hannukah
The religion's most popular holiday is "Hannukah" celebrated in December. Hannukah marks the ever lasting oil which lasted for eight days in a time where oil was hard to find.
There are 9 candles on a m'nora. Every night on sunset, the Shamash and one other candle are litten. On the second day two others besides the shamash are litten and so on until the 8th day.
About Israel
After World War ||, in 1948, the first Jewish nation since the Roman destruction of Jerusalem was founded. After the country's founding, they immediatly had several wars with some nearby Arab countries. The 900,000 Jews previously living in North Africa and the Middle East fled to Israel during this time. By 2000, Jewish population centers had shifted, with the US and Israel being the center of Jewish secular and religious life.
Peace Treaties with Arab countries
Due to the difficult relations with the Arab countries, Israel has fought many wars to keep their country.
Some countries that have signed peace treaties are:

- Egypt
