Any of you who have previously edited Wikipedia, will probably be at least somewhat familiar with the image policy. Our policy is somewhat more relaxed.

The following are major differences between our policy and Wikipedia's:

  1. Fair use: Wikipornia does accept fair use images in most cases.
  2. Appropriateness: Wikipornia does not allow pornographic or obscene images at all, while Wikipedia will in some rare cases (see below)

No porn

Wikipornia does not allow images of a pornographic nature. To clarify: images of performers box covers, or logos are appropriate, unless the image is also pornographic. If no alternative is available, please crop the image.

For example, in the unlikely event a performer had no images available which were not pornographic, crop the image to only show their face (unless of course something's going on up there!)

Why on earth have such a policy we hear you ask? Our primary rationale is that pornographic images cause legal issues. However, a secondary, and also important one is that ones of a pornographic nature are more likely to have a commercial value (violation of fair use). So having a "if its porn, it goes" policy is the easiest way to deal with this issue.
