First of all, gravity is very different in a bridge.  The regular downward world-gravity remains the same, up until the point the craft enters the bridge.  It exponentially decreases, the farther in you go.  It is also [theorized] that in proximity to the eye, there is a universal gravity that pulls on everything at every point at once, in all directions.  This means that all of it is immediately canceled out, but the closer to the eye you get, the stronger this omnipresent gravity gets.  Once you are close to the exit, you can feel the other world’s gravity pulling you towards the top of the craft.

Appearance and Experience

Bridges (when closed) appear to be thin cracks or scratches on the surface of the air when viewed properly. They do not have any spectacular traits or effects in this state.

Bridges (when open) appear to be black holes that curve the fabric of space downward. They always appear as a horizontal-facing downward-directing funnel, that generates a mild current inwards.

From all directions, the funnel appears to be funneling and blackening space as it approaches it’s ‘center’. However, from above (80-100 degrees), an image of the other side can be seen through a circular hole. When viewed from directly above (90 degrees), the image is perfectly clear, and shows the exact visual of the other side.

When approaching a bridge, it appears to be a black hole, directing downward. The closer you get, The more the space seems to bend around you. No motion can be detected that indicates downward movement as you enter it. As you enter, you remain horizontal, and the bridge accelerates up to meet you. There is a clear increase in acceleration, which can be felt all the way till the eye.

When encompassed by the bridge, you appear to be traveling through a black tunnel, with particles and debris concentrated around the circumference. As the acceleration eases off, the tunnel appears to flatten out, or grow to such an enormous size that you are traveling along its edge, and can no longer see the other sides. At this point, it appears you are falling down a perfectly flat waterfall that extends to the right and left infinitely. It also appears that the wall you are traveling down extends up (behind you) and down (in front of you) forever.

When approaching the eye, it appears that you are drifting away from the visible wall, until you can see nothing. At this point, the internal lights of the craft, as well as everything visible, begin to fade. When you reach a certain distance from the eye, all activities are stopped, and you pass out. [And no one has ever witnessed the eye itself, because even it they could remain conscious, there would be no way to see, as all light is extinguished, and all systems are offline].

When exiting the eye, It is much of the same in reverse: You drift towards a distant wall that extends infinitely. When you reach it, the circular tunnel closes in around you from behind. This time, the wall is closest to the top of the craft, (as opposed to the bottom when entering). At this point the gravity from the other world kicks in, and eventually, you exit the bridge.

When exiting the bridge, the craft is riding upside-down on the tracer. By now, most systems are online and the people usually regain consciousness. The craft is soon righted, and the remainder of the crew is revived with cold water or a swift smack.

It is known that several of the bridged planets do exist in the same universe. This is because one can look up at world B form world A, and then travel to world B and view world A in the night sky. Because no one can travel between worlds through the void of space, there is no way to confirm whether bridges lead to a past or future world.

Bridges cannot be forced closed once opened. If the opener suddenly closes the bridge, the other side will receive kickback, depending on the instantaneousness of the closure. A bridge generally takes an hour to close without negative kickback on the other side.

Kickback is an extremely powerful suction force on only one side of the bridge. It is assumed the force is driven into the eye. This can be detrimental to the one receiving kickback.

However, once a bridge has been suddenly closed, and the other side receives kickback, the force remains within the eye with no place to go. This means that the next time the bridge is opened, from either side, the force stored in the eye will vent in an explosive outburst at the initial opener (the one who threw the kickback). This balancing force, or ‘reconciliatory force’ is usually over three times that of the kickback, and in the outward direction, instead of inward.

After the reconciliation force has been delivered, the balance of the bridge is restored, and either side can use it again without harm. In this way, it is never an advantage to use kickback on the other side, because they will be just as capable of returning a more powerful devastation, and you cannot use the bridge until they do, or you release it on yourself.
