Want to sing, but not ruin yourself inside?
[edit] Steps
- Try to picture yourself in the clouds, relaxed.
- Breathe properly. Put your hand on your stomach, and breathe. Don't lift your shoulders, keep them down, inhale through your nose, when you breathe. You should notice your stomach is going out, not your chest. If this is happening, you're doing it right!
- Do some warm-ups. Start with o, then ah, then e, then oooooh, and work your way up.
- Stretch. You need you get your whole body ready.
- Swing from the left, swing from the right.
- Yawn. Make your throat open up, and get warmed up. Yawning helps you do this.
- Do some funny things, like the song doh a deer a female deer from "The Sound Of Music", and be funny. Singing is not all about being serious.
- If you're singing in the morning, yawning is the best, and it'll make you more awake!
[edit] Tips
- Drink plenty of water.
[edit] Warnings
- Never eat chocolate when you sing!
- When you cough, it's your throat bleeding, that's when you're sick, you taste a little blood, it's your throat, so try not to let it get too far. Don't strain yourself, and you won't bleed from your throat.
