Push Up Nobody (KJ-52 vs Linkin Park)

Push Up Nobody is a mashup created by DJ Nerd42 on June 13, 2009 between DJ Zap's instrumental of Linkin Park's "Nobody's Listening" from Meteora and KJ-52's "Push Up (Remix) Ft. Sev Statik." from The Yearbook; The Missing Pages. (You can get the KJ-52 instrumentals and acapellas here)

I just got up in the morning and thought of taking a break from school and junk to make a mashup. First time I heard "Push Up" from The Yearbook album, it occured to me that it was a song about overcoming adversity in the MC's musical career, kinda like Nobody's Listening. For the information of KJ-52 fans who are offended by explicit language, Meteora doesn't have any, unlike some of Linkin Park's more recent work.

I created this in less than two hours using Mixmiester Pro to find BPMs, Audacity to do the beat-matching and mixing and FL Studio to get the clip at the very beginning from It's Pronounced Five Two to loop and pan correctly.

Second try

Turns out in my original version, the vocals were way to loud and the instrumental was way too quiet. I blame this on having cheap crappy speakers from China. I have uploaded a replacement version --07:32, 22 June 2009 (PDT)

Da Funk Yo Thing (KJ-52 vs Daft Punk)

The next weekend, (June 27-28, 2009) I made another KJ-52 mashup, this time with Daft Punk's "Da Funk".

It was pretty easy to do since "Do Ya Thing" and "Da Funk" are both derivatives of "Another One Bites the Dust". If it sounds funny/different/annoying, that's probably because Daft Punk is French House, not American hip hop. (Contrary to the belief of Kanye West fans)

Chrono Trigger Takes All My Money (feat KJ-52)

This puts the vocals from KJ-52's "Starbucks (Takes All My Money)" over a beat from The Chrono Trigger Mixtape (I only recommend the instrumental version - all the rapping from the original version sucks on multiple levels and contains excessive explicit content) which sampled the Chrono Trigger soundtrack. The association was partially suggested by the line, "Who made you the judge and jury?" - the original song is from a courtroom scene in the Chrono Trigger SNES game.
