Stairway to Heaven is a phenomolaly good song by Led Zeppelin. Written in 1971 by the amazing rock band, it has since become a staple at rock music stations.
Origins
The song is thought to have orginated when Gutarist, Jimi Page, had a sister who was completely spoilt. So much so that for her, everything that glittered was gold. At one point, she attempted to buy a stairway to heaven (after being led there by a piper), she also noticed frequent bustles in hedgerows, which turned out to be Spring cleans for the May Queen. She was unable to buy the stairway to heaven as the was rock, but didn't roll.
