Events planned so far: On Galveston Island, we're having a celebration at the Galveston Railroad Museum from 11am to 1pm. Island Transit will offer free bus transportation throughout the day!
There will be music, fun and a celebration of the winners of a week-long Carfree Challenge, be dazzled by velocouture, see artist renderings of Galveston's future downtown transit terminal, find out about the upcoming commuter rail connection to the mainland, see an exhibit of Galveston's proposed bike lanes, and get up-close-and-personal with subscription sharing of electric bikes, scooters, Zipcars and other exciting ways to kick the car habit.
