Jodi Darien Darellis, AKA. Joiddar
- Jodi is a mad-scientist of Elled, and known for her weaponry designs. She's semi-responsible for the amount of resources that are available for mad-scientists, due to her own insistance that there be enough for the ideas that wind up going to scrap.
History with Elled
- Another Elledian mad-scientist, of age 16, who was just recently brought into service due to the loss of contact from FerretBob. Not much is known of her background, save for the Mexicali Government...or at least, what's left of it. Her most recent gripe has been coming to terms with how government works, and mostly having to deal with DA's constant plans of action for what she should be doing. She came to Elled originally seeking a place to call her own, but not far afterwards, she decided it wasn't bad to see what she could do to improve the country itself. She ran a Hotel/Apartment Complex that's fairly low-scale and obviously kept in good repair. The place itself was originally used as a front for most of her 'evil schemes' most of which tended to just get scrapped anyways, mostly as she couldn't figure out when to start them. Her relations to the other Elledian scientists is one of unease, as they all know how talented her skills are and many want to just kill her because of their fear that she'll upset the natural balance of power. As for what she's contributed so far, the only object that has seen the most use are her weapons.
Mexicali History
- Jodi's history here is not very beautiful...in fact, it's more of a tale of hardship and hurt than anything else. Originally brought in at the age of 5, she was a part of a test to create a group of super-naturally smart humans who could create nearly any kind of machinery out of basic items. The idea was taken from (surprise, surprise!)MacGyuver films that had been recovered ages ago, which had barely enough snippets to tell them of what the human psyche was capable of. This was a key idea that the Mexicali scientists wanted to replicate in people who showed exceptional skill in knowledge and academics, leading to a fake school for the exceptionally blessed kids who would later get 'transferred' to the governmental facility. Jodi was among these kids and despite her age she got the invite to the secondary school, whereupon her parents let her go to that first. Hardly a year in the school, an invite was sent to allow Jodi to transfer over to the better equipped part of the 'campus' and her parents politely turned it down and pulled Jodi out of school as they said she didn't need to go there any more. This is where the greed and power corruption comes in...The scientists who worked there knew that Jodi could handle what they were putting people through, just to make the super-geniuses that they wanted.
- Their desire led to a small governmentally placed accident for Jodi's parents to fall into, as both parents had no grandparents or relatives that could take her in. The crash went off without a hitch, save for the overlooking factor of one particular thing...that of Jodi being there too. She managed to survive, with an amputated right forearm and was eventually handed over to the government for custody. Years went by as she was put through rigorous tests that pushed her mind to and beyond insanity, often enough it caused her to break down in tears. It didn't stop the scientists though, at least, until Jodi found a way to get around their security. She developed an uncanny skill at hacking and programming, along with being a skilled machinist. Her greatest asset has been an ability the scientists are still puzzled about to this day, that of being able to break the laws of physics with her inventions. Some of them had perpetual motion devices, while others were more or less lacking the proper parts for certain functions that would make it fundamentally unstable. Yet she made them all the same, often not realizing they were being used by others later.
- Jodi used her hacking skills to black-out the entire building, and used what she knew of the system to get to the exit. It nearly failed, save for the prosthesis she built during her time there. The prosthesis itself helped her leave, mostly from the weapon she had placed inside it, and after getting out she used a remote to trigger a bomb she had left in her room. The place was demolished, but to this day no-one is sure if it was totally destroyed or if it still exists.
Jodi's Personality
- While seemingly nice and outgoing at first, she's one very tough person to get along with properly. Jodi's temper is easy to ignite, and it takes a very long time to put it out. The biggest point of her being so nice at first is simply her curiousity taking over, which is later replaced by cold hard logic and ingenuity when she affirms what kind of person she is dealing with. Because she dislikes people rather easily, it's rather easy to not like her for many things. Her outlook on others is just as bad, often viewing those who won't cooperate as 'broken tools unfit for use', or 'people to be tolerated until they prove useful'. DA's drastic measures to stamp this out of her has resulted in a bit more hatred of him than forseen, though she still tolerates him as though he were a big brother.
Jodi's Prosthesis/mechanics
- Because it is so easy to spot, her prosthesis is built to amaze any tech wiz. The neuromuscular control rivals any modern arm replacement, and it even has a built in keyboard and sounds system, along with a holographic computer desktop that she personally fitted. The biggest thing about it though, is the weapon stored in the core of the prosthesis. A plasma-core generator and a mechanism built to fire heated balls of plasma that explode on contact, a very deceiving way to make others think that dis-arming her is gonna be easy. Her other weapon is a gun based off a show the kids had to watch during their time in the facility. The gun in question is very much like that of Gene Starwind's from Outlaw Star, in that it fires magical energy from shells. The differentiation is that her shells are re-charged and each is specifically linked to a certain kind of magic instead of relying on the shell's components.
Mad-Science of Jodi
- Jodi has made several items of worth, though many parts are still left in warehouses she had dotted across the landscape in case she needed them. The warehouses are linked via a teleportation system, and only Jodi knows how to work it. The items so far that she has added to Elled is a rather powerful suit of armor made for battle, which is fairly slow but impervious to anything save for a nuclear explosion. She also designed a magical shotgun based on her 'Magi-Gun', but the effects in battle have yet to be seen. She also started experiment with 'solid light' to form a powerful force-field, based around reflecting back several tons of force upon impact. DA having worked upon this already, noticed two things - One, Jo was going up the dead end trackhe and already tried, and two, she had some ingenious circuitry, so he used it to strengthen his solid light generator, giving Jodi an idea of what to start working on in later years. Jodi also created a computer AI, named Blue, who works alongside her constantly as the 'hacking backup' and general voice of reason.
Alternates
- There is one alternate as of now that has appeared, and her name is Jo. She is from the Doppleverse, and is almost an exact copy of the main timeline Jodi, save for one difference. The one thing is that instead of losing contact with a person she met on one of her 'escapes' from the Facility, that she wound up tagging along and grew up alongside him. The guy she met was Homer, along with Helen, and her experiences with him drastically changed her way of seeing the world. This also created a rather interesting love for Homer, and most of the time he didn't notice. This is what's kept her seeking knowledge and using her skills, as she plans to eventually settle down with Homer. Jo is far more advanced in tech than Jodi, and it shows by what she uses and what items she has with her at all times. Jo wears a pair of green goggles, which often are connected to a network hub of her own design that feeds information out to everyone who can communicate. Jo's computerized companion is called Red, and differs only slightly from Jodi's Blue in that he often resides in a mouse-like metal body that has a home in Jo's prosthesis.
