Vorarephilia, often referred to simply as vore by those interested in it, is a fetish consisting of one being, character, or entity consuming another in some way, shape, or fashion. The word vorarephilia is derived from the Latin vorare (to 'swallow' or 'devour') -- also the root of the English word voracious -- and Ancient Greek φιλία (philia, 'love'). However, the word 'vore' itself likely derived from such words as carnivore, herbivore, and omnivore, though the exact origin of the term is unknown. The fetish itself can take on many, many different forms, and has grown from its origins to have many branches and categories.

Categories by Orifice

First off, and probably the easiest way to organize vore is by the orifice used for consumption.

Oral Vore - By far the most common, most normal seeming, and most enjoyed of all vore types

Anal Vore - Often considered by most to be less...clean than other types of vore

Genital Vore - Consisting of Unbirth and Cock Vore, this tends to be one of the more sexual types

Other Orifices - Various other parts of the body can be used as well, though other types are far less common.

Categories by Graphic Content

Vore can also be categorized by how graphic the content is, though there are a couple of categories for this.

Soft Vore - Consists of swallowing the prey whole and usually alive

Hard Vore - Consists of ripping, shredding, and tearing the prey during eating
