Humans are bipedal mammals belonging to the family of great apes, and... Well, you know what human beings are. The odds are that you are one yourself. This article is about humans in vore.
Not all vorarephiles build their fantasies on vore involving humans. Hence, humans may appear in fantasies as prey only, predators only, as both predators and prey, or neither. A human prey consumed by a non-human predator may be eaten by a large animal (such as a giant snake), or by giant semi-human fantasy beings, such as nagas. In vore involving non-human predators and non-human prey, the prey will often be a furry, and such vore may consist in furries eating furries, nagas eating furries, large animals eating furries, and so on.
Vore involving only humans relies strongly on fantasy and suspension of disbelief, particularly in cases of soft vore. Given that it is impossible for one human being to swallow another whole and alive, fantasy techniques are called upon to make the act "plausible". For example, the prey may be shrunk and made small enough for the predator to swallow whole. This is a type of macro vore. Alternately, the predator may swallow the prey without shrinking him/her, with the viewer/reader being asked to suspend disbelief in order to consider it possible. This is known as same-size vore. Finally, and more rarely, transformation vore enables the human prey to be transformed into an ordinary type of food, and eaten as such by the predator.
Giantess vore, in which the prey is normal-sized and the predator is a giantess big enough to swallow him/her whole, may be defined as a type of all-human vore, although it is debatable whether giantesses qualify as human. Male giants are theoretically possible, but rarely, if ever, seen in vore art and writing. Such fantasies appear to be exclusively f/m and f/f.
