Joseph R. Simmons (born May 9th, 1963) is a former reasonably successful television actor who rose to some prominence as a political editor of his local daily. Known as a socially progressive Democrat though economic moderate, he is largely believed to be a New Democrat.

Simmons rose his way through the White House becoming one of a field of political analysts, aka spin doctor, for the Clinton administration. Returning to California in 1999, he entered the California State Senate in 2003 and presided over a political talk show from 2002 to 2007 on statewide radio. In 2008 after garnering large scale support with both rural and urban voters he was elected as a Democrat to the House of Representatives.

He has recently made steps to endorse Ellis Forrestal for President, and plans to commit to fundraising and awareness campaigns for this cause, as a well as make strides in the House and enter onto one of it's in house Committees.
