Jonathan Hayes (D-NM), Vice President of the United States (2010 - 2013), Governor of New Mexico (2008 - 2010). The Vice Presidency was vacant during the summer and fall of 2010 due to Joe Biden (D-DE) resignation under the shadow of scandal. After President Barack Obama died in the tragic train accident in October of 2010, the Speaker-turned-President, Jack Magruder, tapped Governor Hayes to be the caretaker Vice President. Hayes was confirmed unanimously by the Senate on November 26, 2010.
