Born and raised in Flagstaff, Arizona, John has called the town home all his life. He was born to a working-class family. His father worked for several different railroad companies, and his mother ran a local daycare. The young Mandry showed a prowess for money at an early age, and was soon in charge of the family budget. He saved up a few thousand dollars a year from age ten on. Because of this, he was able to pay his way through the University of California at Berkeley with help from both part-time jobs and a scholarship. He graduated as an M.D. in 2001. After two years of practice, he decided to run for the House of Representatives. Well known in the region, and a well-respected member of Arizona's Republican Party, he won the election and has served in the House ever since.
2010 Elections
John was a candidate for Lieutenant Governor of the Southwest. Running with Andrew Seong, he defeated Democrat Montgomery Hughes, while Seong lost his bid to DNC Chair Haley Cavalier.
