2012 Republican National Convention

The United States 2012 Republican National Convention will take place at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee, WI. It is expected that the attending delegates at the convention will nominate Gulf Coast Governor Matt Mitchell as the Republican Presidential candidate and former Great Lakes Senator Andrew Morrison as the Vice-Presidential candidate for the 2012 Presidential election. 1,191 pledged delegates are necessary for a candidate to win the nomination.

Speakers
In advance of the convention the News Corp online program Olivia Online published a list of speakers which may still be subject to change. The list of speakers includes:
For Day One, the opening of the Convention, Party Chairman and Senator Watkiss, Senator Everson, Senator Perry, Senator Caffee, Congressman Hawkins, Congressman Harris, Governor Jefferson and Speaker of the House Reynard will address the Convention
The Speakers list for Day Two will include both the House Majority Leader Thorndike and the Senate Majority Leader MacLeod as well as Senator Watkiss, Senator Morey, Governor Pizzuto, Senator Alevera, Senator Nielson, Senator Larson, and the Vice Presidential Nominee, former Senator Andrew Morrison
On Day Three, the final day of the convention Senator Lightfoot, Congresswoman Alcott, Congressman Hurley, Congressman Binghamton, and Lt. Governor Moore are expected to address the assembled delegates. On this day Governor Mitchell is also expected to make is acceptance speech.

Hosting City Selection
Initially ten cities made bids to the Republican National Committee (RNC) for proposals to host the 2012 Convention. These were Milwaukee, WI; Cincinatti, OH; San Diego, CA; Chicago, IL; St. Louis, MO; Charlotte, NC; Phoenix, AZ; Philadelphia, PA; Baltimore, MD and Atlanta, GA. After the first round of consideration by the Republican National Committee the list was shortened to include only five cities. These included Milwaukee, WI; Cincinatti, OH; San Diego, CA; St. Louis, MO and Philadelphia, PA. The same day the list of five was published the media also received a list with four additional cities which were initially considered but didn't file their bids in time to make it on the list of then. These cities were Seattle, WA; Tampa, FL; Los Angeles, CA and Grand Rapids, MI.
Earlier than expected the RNC then announced the selection of Milwaukee, WI as host city for the 2012 Convention, a decision which was praised throughout the party and especially by Great Lake Republicans. The location for the convention will be the Bradley Center, home of the Milwaukee Bucks.
