Mitchell Eubanks (born April 12, 1975) is a politician from the U.S. state of Connecticut, and has been a Republican member of the United States House of Representatives since 2009.

Early Life and Career

Mitch Eubanks was born in Torrington, CT. He attended the Norwich Military Institute in Vermont, earning a commission in the Engineer Branch in 1997. From 1998 to 2001, he was stationed in Germany, where he deployed to Kosovo. In 2001, he was stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, served one tour in Iraq and another in Afghanistan. In 2005, he transferred to Fort Bliss, TX. He left the Army in 2008, and moved back to Torrington, intending to go to graduate school.

Run for Congress

His graduate plans were put on hold when the Connecticut Republican Party drafted him to run for congress in Connecticut's 5th district following the resignation of the scandal-plagued Democratic incumbent. He won a very low-turnout election by fewer than 500 votes.

Northeast Gubernatorial election, 2010

Mitch Eubanks was the 2010 Republican Nominee for Northeast Governor. He faced Nassau County Executive Valerie Francis of New York.
