Early Life
Gene Mullins was born to Ralph and Ruth (née Dotson) on December 1, 1938. The son of a High School history teacher, Gene took an early interest in history. He attended Montclair State College from 1956-1960 graduating with a degree in History with the intent of teaching. At the age of 22, shortly after graduating, he attended a church service, at the prompting of a former roommate, and was converted to Christianity. In 1967 Gene graduated Westminster Theological Seminary in Glenside, PA, with a Masters of Divinity. He was pastor of a church in the Presbyterian Church in America from 1968-1976.
