Eric Stevenson (born May 21st,1972) is the current United States Secretary of Homeland Security, he was previously a United States Representative for the U.S. state of New York's 3rd Congressional District. He was also a teacher,political adviser,and Chairman of his Town's Republican Party.

Biographical
Born on May 21st,1975 in the small town of Babylon,New York,Eric Stevenson made his way quickly through the world of politics. He studied Education, and Political Sciences at Hofstra University. Upon completion of his fourth year, Stevenson decided to go to school for two more years where he received a masters in both Political Science and Education. In 2006 he became the Chair of the Republican party for His town and he was also a top adviser to the previous representative of the District,Peter King.He continued this until 2008 when he decided to run for the House of Representatives. He won a hard fought election against a tough opposition.Since then he promised to do what is best for the people he represents, and is well liked among Republicans in his district.He also unsuccessfully ran for Senator in 2010 against Archie Sanford. Eric Stevenson is also known to go against several key GOP political views. Eric Stevenson has supported abortion and gay marriage. In regards to Foreign policy, he has stressed the need to use diplomacy as opposed to war. He is also a big supporter of equal education opportunities and supports cutting taxes,he has also stated the need to reduce unemployment by creating public works programs.He is well liked among Republicans in his region after his recent attempt at Senator.
About a month after his attempt for Senator, Eric Stevenson was named the 4th United States Secretary of Homeland Security.

Congressman Stevenson declared his intention to run for the vacant Senate seat left by the late Chuck Schumer (D-NY)against Representative Archie Sanford, although he ran a good campaign he was unable to win over democrats in the region.
