Chris Harrison (born January 18, 1972) was a Senator from the Shenandoah Valley.

Early Life

Chris was born in Charlottesville, Virginia on January 18, 1968 to Alistair Harrison, a Professor of Medical Ethics at the University of Virginia, and Davina Rossiter, an elementary school teacher. Upon his graduation from St. Anne's-Belfield School in 1985, Chris attended the University of Virginia.

At UVA, Chris double majored in Bioethics and Social Studies Education, served as Chair of the University Judiciary Committee, and is rumored to be member of the highly secretive Seven Society. After graduating with honors, Chris signed on for three years with the Army and was accepted to the Graduate School at the University of Notre Dame at the conclusion of his service.

He married Gloria Hatcher a month after receiving his PhD in Theology and their sons Andrew and Peter were born a year later. In 1996, he began teaching Virginia and United States Government, Contemporary History, and African-American History courses at Charlottesville High School in Charlottesville, Virginia. Chris is a lifelong member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Charlottesville where he ran the Children's Ministry from 1996 until his election to Congress in 2006.
