Nomic is a game of rules. This is not to say that Nomic is merely a game with rules, but that it's also solely about these rules. By default, there are twenty-nine rules that not only explain how to play the game, but are the game itself. The starting rules include everything from victory conditions to turn progression and the very means by which new rules are created and old rules are changed. Any and all of these rules may be subject to change, and some of them (such as the point/victory systems) are even even deliberately boring to encourage replacement.
