Food is one of the trade goods available on The Universal for shipping between space stations. It can represent raw foods such as meat, vegetables, fruits, other plants, herbs and seeds, as well as constituted and concentrated foods in a freeze-dried or condensed form.
In the Andromeda Galaxy, food can normally be bought for around 4.0 credits per ton, though some of the outlaying systems will sell food for as much as 14.0 credits, or more, per ton. Because of food's little trade value, it is normally traded by novice cargo captains or by those that lost a large shipment and need to recover their losses.
