Visually this was done through bold, stylized pictures of African Americans of that time and giving scenes of black variety through different perspective. The African American was the creator of art and its subject for the reason to present blacks in a new way and create the picture of the ‘New Negro’ as educated and sophisticated. Important artists were Jacob Lawrence, Aaron Douglas and Norman Lewis. |
