Geldoff
First Appearance: Ultimate Spider-Man 40
Age: 14 or 15 (Ultimate Spider-Man 44)
Geldoff (last name unknown) is a fifteen year old orphan from Latveria. At the time of his appearance in Ultimate Spider-Man 40, he has been in America for two years and has been adopted by an unnamed American family. He speaks in a Eastern European dialect and is socially awkward. Geldoff goes to school at PS44, a rival school of Midtown that is located 12 blocks away from that same school. Geldoff was horribly unpopular at was referred to as the "dorky foreign guy".
As time went on, Geldoff discovered he had supernatural powers. By focusing and concentrating, he can cause an object to explode with a large amount of force. Peter Parker theorizes that he is either telepathically exciting the molecular structure of an object or damaging it so that it has no choice but to combust. Upon manifesting these powers, Geldoff's adopted family though him to be a mutant and became frightened of him. Geldoff himself has very strong anti-mutant feelings (believing them to be children of the devil) and rejects this theory. He becomes enraged when someone suggests that he could be a mutant.
Geldoff found that his powers made him liked by his classmates. At a party held by someone at his school, he got wasted and blew up a parked car outside. Members of the football team were present and encouraged him to do more to which he complied (Ultimate Spider-Man 40). The cops arrived soon after the part dispersed. The following week, the school principal of PS44 suspended half of the football team for the incident. Geldoff, thinking this was being unfair to his new friends, threatene3d the principal and blew up his car in retaliation. At this point, he lost control and blew up the car of a teacher that had called him a name as well. During this incident, Spider-Man arrived at the scene and demanded to know what was going on. Spider-Man then webbed up Geldoff's hand to keep him from doing more. Geldoff realized that he could burn the webs off of his hand by using his powers. The cops then began to arrive at the scene and Spider-Man attempted to leave. Geldoff grabbed onto Spider-Man and followed the masked hero.
Spider-Man then had a conversation with Geldoff where he tried to express to the youth that he had to use his powers responsibly. Not understanding Spider-Man's motivations, but liking the idea of being famous, Geldoff thought the idea over. At this time, a crime happened nearby that Spider-Man left to deal with, Geldoff, thinking he could help, exploded a van in front of the store that the criminals were robbing, nearly hurting several people inside, including Spider-Man himself. Spider-Man, angry at Geldoff's actions, slapped the youth and informed him that he was taking him to the cops. Geldoff insulted, prepared to fight back.
The fight was interrupted by the arrival of the X-Men, who were tracking Geldoff down as a potential mutant. Geldoff was unique in the fact that he did not register on the X-Men's mutant tracking network as neither human or a mutant. Geldoff, panicked because of the arrival of several mutants, fainted. He awoke in the X-Jet, as the X-Men attempted to take him back to Charles Xavier for examination. Still panicked, he used his powers and blew a whole in the side of the jet, and was then sucked out into the air. He was lost consciousness, only to be rescued by Jean Grey.
Geldoff awoke at Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, in a sedated state. Charles Xavier kept him in this state by telepathically sugesting a "happy thought" to him. Upon examination, Charles Xavier came to the belief that Geldoff was a normal human who had been genetically tampered with while still in the womb. Xavier believed that the isolated mutant gene had been injected into his placenta during development. Since this research would have been illegal, the project was then abandoned. Charles Xavier plans to use this evidence present with Geldoff, to pressure the U.N. to crack down on this type of genetic experimentation.
When last seen, Geldoff apologized to Spider-Man for showing off his powers and wanted to know if they were "cool" with each other.
Appearances: Ultimate Spider-Man 40, 41, 42, 43, 44
Jeanne De Wolfe
Jessica Jones
John Stacy
First Appearance: Ultimate Spider-Man 5
Death: Ultimate Spider-Man 31
John Stacy is a captain in the NYPD. He is first seen as part of the unit that arrives at the warehouse where Peter Parker has tracked down the murderer of Ben Parker. This unit arrests the burglar after Spider-Man throws him through a warehouse window suspended by a length of rope. Captain Stacy first sees Spider-Man this same night, standing on the side of a building. (Ultimate Spider-Man 5)
Captain Stacy is seen next investigating the mysterious death of a woman at Racine. This woman was killed by Otto Octavius after his escape from a government facility. (Ultimate Spider-Man 15) Stacy is harassed by Ben Urich from the Daily Bugle during this case for further information. This occurs at the same time that John's rebellious daughter Gwen begins attending Midtown High School. During her first week, she pulls a knife on a classmate and is suspended. Captain Stacy tries to discuss the matter with her, but has problems connecting to his daughter due to his job. (Ultimate Spider-Man 16)
Soon after this, John Stacy's wife, Ginger, runs off to Chicago with another man. When this happens, Captain Stacy is not at home and Gwen, in desperation of the situation, goes to Peter Parker's house for support. May Parker calls Gwen's father and John Stacy comes to pick up his daughter. At this time, John and May stay up half the night talking after May makes eggs for the Stacys. (Ultimate Spider-Man 23)
Ginger returns home at least for a short time for a short time (evidenced by Gwen crying in Ultimate Spider-Man 28 after hearing her mom talk to one of her friends about hating the people in her life). She then leaves again, this time for good. John confides this information to May Parker who he has began a friendship with. John Stacy then goes to a police convention in Atlantic City, leaving Gwen with May. (Ultimate Spider-Man 29) During this conference, he and his fellow officers witness a man disguised as Spider-Man attempting to rob an armored car. They attempt to apprehend him and in the process, shoot the backpack the impostor is wearing. The bad begins to smoke and the impostor tosses it aside. It falls towards a young boy on the street. Captain Stacy throws the kid to safety and is then killed as the bag explodes. It is later revealed that the bag contained plastique. (Ultimate Spider-Man 31)
It is hinted that a romantic relationship might have been emerging between May Parker and John Stacy before the events of his death. May Parker acknowledges in therapy that she had feelings for the police captain. May attempts to contact Ginger Stacy afer John's death regarding Gwen, but Ginger has no interest and will not come back. After this, May decides to take the girl in herself.
