Introduction
Tribewanted is a unique global project that is bringing 5000 people together online to decide what happens during the development of a sustainable community on a Fijian island. Tribe members not only participate in this real life adventure online they also have the opportunity to visit and stay on the island itself for up to 3 weeks.
History
The project was founded by Ben Keene and Mark James. It was in a Heathrow departure lounge in 2004 that Ben first discovered the famously friendly Fijians. Tony, a 24 year old Fijian serving in the British Army, was returning home when he sat down next to Ben for the trans-Atlantic flight. The two chatted all the way to the other side of the world where Tony invited Ben to stay with his family in a small village in the mountains to celebrate his brother’s birthday. The party went on for three days and Ben soon found himself part of a real Fijian tribe. So when, a couple of years later, MJ and Ben started searching for islands to form a new, global tribe, Fiji was soon back on the map. A month later and the pair had spent their last savings on a return flight to the South Pacific…

Business structure
Tribewanted is a private limited company registered in England and Wales under number 5675000. As a business idea, tribewanted aims to create online communities that have a real world impact. We consider tribewanted to be a social enterprise; an organisation that aims to succeed both financially and in the way it positively impacts society as it operates. This means that we would like to see tribewanted not only as an experience of a lifetime for its members but also to have minimal damage on the environments it operates in as well as supporting projects that benefit those who do not have the same kind of opportunities as us and our members. For us, a successful business is one that is both financially sustainable and socially positive.
Ben Keene & Mark James are the sole owners of tribewanted ltd.
