Lara met Tony in the Indian Jungle when she was looking for the Infada Stone in Tomb Raider 3. It would seem that his stay in the Jungle had made him mad, but in fact he had already taken the Infada Stone from the Temple Ruins and hidden it on him; thus making him mad. The reason Tony was in the Jungle in the first place was that the RX-Tech company had sent him and two others to retrieve the Infada Stone for them. But, as described above, Tony kept the stone for himself, leaving his two fellow explores to die in the temple. Lara caught up with him in the Caves of Kaliya and managed to kill him and retrieve the Infada Stone.
