It may look crude, but in WWII it was accurate and had a larger magazine than most rifles of the time and had a bolt so fast the germans thought they were under machinegun fire.
In TS2, the weapon resembles a Winchester lever-action rifle, whereas in TSFP, the weapon resembles a Lee-Enfield Rifle. Both weapons were used throughout the early 20th century.
