The mother of your mother, or the mother of your father. These are normally two different women, unless you are the product of incense. Both old ladies can be called by this name. This is known as proper grammar usage.

The common English grammar is very similar in many respects to a granny, the main difference being that grammar has evolved over many centuries, without the need for Granny Smiths.
