A device used for the detection of nearby paedophiles.
The system, usually worn on the hip, works by a mechanism similar to that of the now ubiquitous Gaydar. In recent years low grade imports from Eastern Europe have resulted in increasing numbers of false positive identifications with paediatricians and pedestrians worst affected. If the pedometer is fitted with a stopcock, serious injury can be inflicted on innocent people. Stopcocks have hence been banned from use with pedometers.
