Etymology

First use of the word wiki is accredited to talented actor, singer and one half of Smith and Jones, Will Smith in his Oscar winning 1999 satirical film and song combination 'Wild Wild West'.

In the early part of the 21st century street youths, tired and unhappy with the effort required to pronounce the two syllables of the word wiki, replaced the spoken word with a simple hand signal. This hand signal overcame the complications of speech and the rest is history. Word.
