5....

So you just got a V6 Mustang and you want to ensure it is faster. Well there are before you consider this a few things you will or should be aware of. As sure several older men on here would right back me up on this post so here we go im.

1. What're your long haul objectives because of this new car?

2. What's your overall budget to invest on this car?

3. Would you like to make it a daily driver? Truck double? or street program?

4. What is you basic knowledge of cars and electrical systems?

5. Have you got enough time?

The fastest car is wanted by alot of people, the very best looking car or the loudest car. That's becuase everyone who owns a gets the itch. And im maybe not talking about down there, im talking about the energy itch, the pace itch, the ability to turn out running and take that corner at 55.

With most significant bolt on mods, you are able to do them yourself with some specialty tools and a good group of hand tools. Some need welding, which many places can perform for a set rate of "X" quantity of dollars where "X" is the constant shop rate.

Today were going to enter into the specific mods.

CAI- Cool Air intake.

There are many different kind of CAI availible available on the market. The air filter is placed by the fenderwell CAI in the fenderwell to obtain cool air as it rushes beneath the individual headlight. That is a fantastic first mod, becuase all you have to are some hand tools and the intructions.

Plastic versus. Material

They're both forms of materials CAI can be found in. Some people like the metal opera covered types becuase it provides a nice look under the hood. Unfortuitously Metal gets hot from outside sources( ie., engine bay) and internal friction of the air passing through it. Plastic on one other hand remains great because it's not really a conductor of heat. the engine bay heat or air friction will not cuase this consumption to heat up.

Large Air Sensor and Property

This is the piece that is as part of your stock air box, and is, for me, one of the bottle necks on the intakes today. The Mass Air Sensor, or MAS, measures the level of air coming into the engine and sends that information to the ECU, where the ECU does its thing and tell Mr. Fuel Injector's just how much gas to dump in respect to the Air Fuel combination. Lets say you've a (76.1mm) CAI and an investment MAS. Youll be pulling in alot of air pretty quickly @ Spacious Throttle, or WOT.

Lets execute a in house test, if you have a cylindrical box about 6-12" long get it. If it's open on both ends, hit put it, and what happened? The air arrived the otherside without issues, right? Now mask 1/3rd of another end and decide to try again, little harder? Same concept in your intake. Still need convincing? Maybe you have tried to vaccum up some thing to big for the vaccum? kinda fought didnt it? Particularly.

Throttle Human body

That is one particular black sheep areas where larger isnt better. 99+ Stock I do believe includes a 65mm Throttle Body, or TB from now on. If your not turbo, supered or No2'ed this mod shouldn't take the long run until after a Power Adder, or PA.

Headers

Well, yet again this is yet another mod that will not do any such thing for your automobile unless you have major mods and are going for a PA as time goes by, otherwise, youll acquire some hourse of "Fun"

Fatigue

The 2nd mod many people will do if not the very first on their mustang. When concidering a fatigue you've to take into consideration that the V6 won't seem like a V8, its difficult unless you buy 2 more cylinders. The stock V6 exhaust arrives of every exhaust manifold and "Y"'s into on following the catalytic converters. Meaning includes the Y adapter and individual side hangers for the tailpipe and muffler, when buying a set, you can either look for one that is full. Or you are able to piece together one for a couple bucks cheaper and hope it all fits. My advice, dont get low priced, because you get what you purchase. Which brings me to backpressure. As soon as your choosing your fatigue ensure you dont go over 2.5" if not youll drop backpressure. without backpressure the V6 will hate you and will not run right at all. You can get larger then 2.5" if your Turboed or Supercharged, other then that I wouldnt recommend it.

Exhaust Methods

We are able to understand this one from our axis the ricers. Exhaust tips dont add HP they add noise, it is more of a effect when you add 3.5" tips on your own 2.5" fatigue, you think it's faster becuase the field says "adds upto 5 RWHP!!!" well it doesnt. However when you enter your car looks louder then it did before, so you think its faster.

Under Drive Pulleys

There are a couple of out there some are inexpensive and some are expensive. What to look for when buying a set could be the harware they include, a package and directions deal. RPM-Outlet has 42% MotoBlue Underdrive Pulleys, or UDP from now on, for about $208 delivered. If you've a big music in your vehicle, I would say 2000-5000Watts, you genuinely wish to be carefull of the UDP's. They'll slow your accessories a quantity, and might affect your cooling, charging and Air Condition. They will not affect everycar, but there is a chance. Steeda and ARP have some 25% UDP which certainly are a little more costly and, well your paying for the name primarily. Installation is about a 1-2 time job according to your technical level. Hint: A pulley Puller helps installation.
