Oxbridge

Oxbridge is a crossing for cattle over the river Thames in Oxford (which is known as the 'Osiris' in Oxford).
Oxbridge replaces the earlier crossing 'Oxford' which was further upstream near the town of Cirencester where the water is shallow enough to be crossed by wading.
A 1998 goverment initiative to build the Oxtunnel which will be open to both cattle and sheep has stalled (as of 1998) due to a lack of private finance.
