Sisters Shirley, Charlie and Marilyn achieved commercial success in the early nineties as the pop trio Hanson. The daughters of a vicar, they grew up in the remote highlands of Scotland, and their religious upbringing strongly influenced their gospel pop sound.

Their brother Alan is a well-known footballer and television pundit.
