Sir William Samuel Smith was a prolific American songwriter and political activist. His songs are characterised by subtle metaphors and a strong message of white supremacism.
The music of the 60's and 70's was heavily influenced by his work.
He also stars in many major motion films, his most successful being Good Will Hunting, where he plays a fugitive on the run from his long-time collaborator Tommy Lee Jones. The film ends with his capture and brutal disemboweling in one of hollywoods most graphic and elaborate special effects to date.
After filming was completed, a public statement read by the director proclaimed Good Will Hunting to be his last film. Will Smith issued another statement expressing his satisfaction with the film but shunned the movie's premiére. He has not been seen since, presumably living as a shut-in in his lavish hollywood estate.
