On July 1st every year, in the town of Elliot in Gwent, female contestants compete to prove that they have the best demeanour.
The contestant who demonstrates the best outward behaviour, especially towards others, is crowned Missy Misdemeanour Elliot. The current champion, who has won the title every year since its inception in 1997, is pictured below.
As with similar titles, such as Miss Understanding and Miss Congeniality, there are allegations of sexism as only female entrants are allowed. As a result, it seems likely that as of 2007, the title will be renamed "Missy or Mister Miss or Mister Demeanour Elliot".
