Editing Miss Congeniality

Every year, at the same time as the [[Miss_Understanding|Miss Understanding]] awards, the Miss Congeniality awards are held in Lacock in Wiltshire, England.

The awards celebrate congenital birth defects and at the end of the seven day festival, a prize is given to the female with the most debilitating congenital defect.


Even though very few people attend the festival - even those with congenital defects - it is held every year as the local council fears being seen as [[congenitalist]] if it were to cancel the event.

The event has been accused of [[sexism]] as only [[women]] are allowed to enter.


In [[2001]] [[Sandra Bullock]] won an academy award for her performance as paraplegic [[FBI]] agent Gracie Hart in the film of the festival, [http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0212346/ Miss Congeniality].
