A rather spiteful and impish little bugger. He is quite cranky due to his age and has a strong dislike of all things good and innocent. Even beautiful landscapes are enough to make him nauseous. If there is one thing that he does appreciate in this world, it's sinister intent, suffering, chaos and good old-fashioned evil. While old and decrepit, he maintains a certain youth about him, particularly when wanting to harm something or just simply walking amongst corpses, a favorite past time.

Being old and a devoted servant has given Gnarl much time to open his mind to the many different studies and ancient texts, making him very intelligent being to the point where his knowledge could be used as an advantage.

Gnarl has been around for many years and seen many of his Overlords come and go. He can even remember the many different ways that they have gone like being exploded, disintegrated, immolated, and even one time eaten by a giant weasel. Although his age cannot quite be determined, it's safe to assume that given his appearance Gnarl is quite old.
Gnarl is known as the Minion Master to the Overlord and Devoted Servant of Darkness. Like all the other Minions of the Overlord, Gnarl was (When he was younger) just like the rest of them, fresh and without any recognizable status. Expendable if you will. He managed to prove his strength above most of the other minions and climbed the ranks until he became the distinguished Minion Master he is today. A position he holds in high regard with his authority to order around the other minions as he pleases as well as abuse them.
Before the reign of their new Overlord, Gnarl witnessed the downfall of his predecessor at the hands of several heroes who sought to gain riches and renown from his defeat. The Overlord fell, and years later, they awoke their new master, the Overlord who would prevail where the rest had failed. With Gnarl's guidance, he was able to steer their master in the direction of power glory. He led the Overlord to the heroes who had slaughtered his predecessor, and who had this point had been consumed by power, greed, and riches that he been bestowed upon them for killing the previous master.
One by one, the Overlord slaughtered every single Hero that had opposed the one before him. When no heroes remained, he discovered the source of all the corruption. The former Overlord that was supposedly slain turns out to be the one who had been in power before it�s predecessor. Gnarl knew of this, and had done as was ordered by the former Overlord. As it turned out, the new Overlord had been a former Hero that had fallen and was placed in a sarcophagus to heal from his battle wounds only to be raised as a �temporary� Overlord.
The two Overlords battled for control over who would rule. In the end, the Former Hero bested the Old Overlord and took his rightful place as the one who sat in the throne, and the scourge of the land. Gnarl praised his new Overlord and obeyed like any Minion would. That was, until a power dragged him away from his world...
