In the live performance of this song, Craig Finn sings 'jah people', instead of 'the people'. The accent and style in which the line is sung is a reference to the 1977 track "Exodus" by Bob Marley and the Wailers, the chorus of which includes the line "movement of jah people". Jah is a rastafarian name for God.
