Possible, although unlikely, reference to the album and song by Cliff Richard, which would fit with the overarching theme of christianity (he was voted the 'most famous christian' the uk. But may not fit with the roster of artists already mentioned.
Also, it may be a reference to a line in "Singin' in the Rain", which simply denotes that a character is ready for action (i.e. their microphone is in placed), albeit with a new and unfamiliar situation.
