Hi, my name is Guy Hodges and I'm from New Zealand but currently living in Concepción, Chile. I work at San Sebastián University as a TEFL trainees.

My boss Juan Molina, the director of the English Pedagogy School of USS, introduced me to Tom Cobb's Compleat Lexcial Tutor site when he showed me the concordancer at that site. Later I stumbled on the Vocabulary Profiler and was hooked. I've used the VP in class with fourth-year TEFL students to create awareness of their lexical proficiency and for them to expand their active vocabulary. We are both very keen to carry out research in the area of Vocabulary Profiling. Juan and I presented a class-plan of this approach at the 9th IATEFL Conference in Santiago, Chile. When researching for this presentation, we came across the paper by Neufeld & Billuroğlu.

I am also a frequent user of Wikipedia and I use the same GringoInChile username in both the English and Spanish versions. For this reason, I am fascinated with the idea of the BNL lists being on a Wiki as I fully appreciate the advantages of this approach.
