Batman in his Modern Age form as begun by Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns (Although that version of Batman isn't technically Modern Age as its in an alternate universe) is like a mix between Golden Age, Bronze Age and in the current run on Batman by Grant Morrison, Silver Age.
He resides in Gotham, which is a city psycho enough to deserve him. Other Gotham vigilantes include Catwoman, Onyx, Nightwing, Oracle and The Huntress.
