Father

Ralf (usually referred to as Father) is Bruno's father. It is strongly implied that he was promoted to the supervisor of Auschwitz, causing the family to move. During the epilogue, it is revealed he was strongly affected by Bruno's disappearance, and, as he found out, death; when the (implied) Red Army liberates the camp [Chapter 20 (the epilogue)], he "didn't really mind what they did to him any more".
