Ook has been one of the major industrial sectors of the Federation since it was originally settled. Home to the massive Ook shipyards, the planet houses the headquarters of some of the biggest businesses in the Federation Human Core Cluster. The system is nestled in a massive nebula, the aftermath of an ancient supernova. Ook was originally a mining colony due to the presence of large amounts of rare materials created by said supernova. The planet, istelf, tends to have wildly changing weather and a wide range of temperature due to the massive amounts of particles and radiation still present in the system. It is not uncommon for lightning storms to last many days, even weeks. Most of the surface is occupied by corporate docks and machinery eclosed in massive domes to protect them from the fierce and sudden storms.
