[edit] Historical notes on Tau Ceti

Tau Ceti stands as the last bastion of human influences before the neutral zone. Like many worlds in the galaxy though, it was first visited by the Keldonians during the Great Warp Age, when intrepid Keldonians, armed with their new warp drive technology, roamed the galaxy and explored many of its wonders, one of which was Tau Ceti Prime.

At first glance, the planet seemed just like any other class M planets, teeming with vegetations and animals, and covered mostly by ocean. What the Keldonians discovered on Tau Ceti Prime though, was a species of vegetation found only on a small island that was unlike any they have encountered before. According to what little data remained from that day, which are mostly rumours and stories, it was said that this plant exhibited unusual curative properties, able to heal wounds, cure diseases, and even reverse aging processes.

But no sample of this alleged plant survived, when shortly after the discovery, the Keldonian population of that settlement disappeared mysteriously overnight. There were no signs of struggles or accidents, and no corpses. The entire population of a few hundred were simply gone, leaving all their buildings and tools intact. This mystery has yet to solved.

Today, Tau Ceti is a human world under Federation control, and the site of the Keldonian ruin is protected under the Tau Ceti Heritage Act as a historical reserve, open to the thousands of researchers and millions of tourists visiting annually, be it to solve the puzzling mystery, trying to find traces of the fabled planet, or to reminisce the Age that was long past.
