Jeremy
Garage Incident #1
The first of two incidents involving a garage occurred shortly after Jeremy received his driver's license. Upon returning from one of his Bitter Lake Grandmas basketball practices and as he was gradually easing the Mazda MPV into the garage, Jeremy inexplicably mixed up brake with accelerator pedal, causing him to jam on the ignition at the most inopportune time. This resulted in a collision with a refrigerator stationed in the garage as well as producing a massive crack along the garage wall. The crack would be later masked by movie posters and the refrigerator taken to the junkyard, and the incident would soon be forgotten within the Cho household until...
Garage Incident #2
The second garage incident took place just minutes before Jeremy, Owen, and Rama were about to head over to a party at Chandra's house. In preparation for the event, Jeremy had even put gel in his hair. As they were embarking, Jeremy, thinking that the garage door was closed, pressed the garage door opener. In actuality, the door was already open and the trio quickly found themselves backing into it, while sparks flew and metal grinded for dramatic effect. Upon realizing what had happened, Jeremy began shrieking so loudly that it prompted Jordan to rush over to investigate. When emotions finally cooled down, Owen and Rama continued onward to the party, while Jeremy washed the gel out of his hair and went straight to bed. Jeremys section is an accident-related stub. Lukas
In late September of 2005, Lukas was driving with a car full of possesions to move into his new house on the SPU campus. While on I-5 which was rapidly becoming more congested in the late afternoon, he attempted to change lanes to the right to exit the freeway. As he was performing his routine head-check, a large box was obstructing his view, so it took him longer to make sure his way was clear. He looked back just in time to see the front of his Ford Explorer smash into the back of a red Nissan Sentra. Pulling off to the side of the road, It was found out that the aging man was from alaska, and this was a rental car for him. Soon the state patrol showed up and cleared things up, while writing a $153 citation for Lukas for causing the accident. There was minimal damage to the Explorer, and he continued on his way. The ticket was eventually taken to mitigation where a deferrment was granted.
Brett
Portland Ticket
Sometime in late Spring of 2003, Brett made an impromptu roadtrip to Portland one Friday night (on a "Thespian excursion," which was considered so impulsive at the time that even Jeff Echert refused to participate). In order to save time, speeds in excess of 80 mph were engaged once outside the environs of Seattle and Tacoma on the I-5 corridor. This strategy worked well, as there were few cars on the road that night, and not a single police car was seen on the way down. Once in Portland, it was quickly discovered that downtown was crawling with patrol cars, one of which pulled Brett's car over when he turned from the center lane (a second police SUV drove up from behind to stymie any escape attempt). The officer merely corrected Brett's mistake and sent him on his way. Feeling confidant after this encounter, on the way back even faster speeds became common as it was desired to see how quickly a return trip could be made. Unfortunately, Brett failed to spot a Pierce County police car before passing the startled patrol vehicle at nearly 110 mph. Upon discovering his error, Brett slowed down to 20 mph in the vain hope that the police car would simpy "pass by." This stategy was unsuccessful, however, and the somewhat irritated female officer dispatched a hefty fine which Brett would end up selling his Cutco knife collection to pay off.
Imprints Incident
As publicity editor Senior Year, it was Brett's job to drive around to various businesses and ask if they would sponsor the literary art magazine with a donation, thereby also gaining a source of advertisement among the student body. One day during Imprints, Brett, Lukas and Liz Gasperini (who was in training to take over publicity) set out on a fairly routine trip to partition local businesses. One traditional donor was the Romio's pizza in Edmonds, so a trip there was made to see if they would renew their sponsorship. After a somewhat awkward conversation with an assistant manager however, the pizza establishment declined to offer even a nominal donation. As they were leaving the parking lot, Brett backed his Range Rover into one of the pizza delivery cars, forcing the three of them to go back into the restaurant so that apologies could be made and information exchanged.
