Ganesh Gives Allusion to Aladdin took place in 11th grade Mrs. Knox's Am-Stud class, when students were given an "Allusion" project to research a common phrase that is often alluded to in conversation. The students would then present their findings in front of the class, with two presentations being given on each particular class period. On one particular day, Ganesh was slated to give a presentation about the story of Alladin from "Arabian Nights". The young braces-wearing Indian boy stepped to the podium and began talking in a quiet voice about the story. It rapidly became clear that he had not researched the topic and was drawing exclusively from his memory of the Disney cartoon production "Aladdin". At one point he was heard saying "There was this guy named Alladin, and he had a monkey named Abu...". The class began laughing noticably and at one point Owen could be heard saying "Look! he doesnt even know his own history!". Mrs. Knox was among those laughing and it is unknown what kind of grade he recieved for the project.
