Analysis
While most mainstream scientists dismiss the field as mere psuedoscience, several members of the intellectually accomplished group maintain an open-minded interest in out-of-place animals and anomalous phenomena in general. Several factors can be seen as contributive to this fascination with the unknown. In reading the canon of group history, the recurring themes of whimsy, adventure, and the spirit of exploration prevail throughout. Coupled with and perhaps motivating this almost child-like connection with the fantastic is the group's geographical backdrop, that of North America's temperate rainforest biome. Cradled between the Olympic peninsula and the Cascade mountains, the opportunity to confront the uknown in the vast hinterlands within eyeshot of one's home is constantly beckoning, as evinced by pursuits like the Bigfoot hunts.
