The Lukas Peter Wikipedia Controversy, else known as "Vanity, thy name is Lukas Peter" refers to the writing, and later cancellation of a wikipedia article written about Lukas.

Controversy

The article, growing in popularity, gained unwanted attention from some of the more watchful users, not familiar with Lukas Peter. A heated debate quickly broke out about the nature of the article. At the center of this disagreement lay the stinging question: Was this article a work of vanity? For those not familiar with wikipedia, a vanity article is one written for the promotion of a group or cause that normally wouldn't be a relevant encyclopedia topic. Several of the naysayers insisted that Lukas himself had penned the article, which was patently false. Several came to the article's defense, but were ultimately toppled by the the majority. In a now-famous statement, one of the critics lamented "Vanity, thy name is Lukas Peter". Soon after, the article was removed.

Aftermath

Kevin's fight for the article didn't end for a significant time. His opposition continued, and at one point called himself the "Wikipedia Insurgency". The Lukas Peter article was later sent to encyclopedia dramatica.
