From The Extended Group

With Prom looming it's ugly financially-burden head around the corner, many in the group started discussing who they would ask. Though a few, such as Gavin, knew for sure who they were striving for, and were already cultivating plans for it, many were still ambivalent to such things and cared more for their daily Wendy's runs. After all, Prom was still two months away, allowing plenty of time for something to develop.

This eventually changed during an Ozma concert, when Jamie finally decided who he was going to ask - Star Wick. Star, the keyboardist for Ozma had recently undergone a rapid weight lost, and for the most part, looked quite good, especially among the other Ozma members. It was after seeing her in the flourescent lights and smoke that pervaded the Crocodile Cafe, did Jamie realize he would actually do it, just for shits and giggles. However, one obstacle remained. He still had to find the means of approaching her. She was rarely seen outside of the confines of the stage, and even if she was, she would usually dart towards the abyss of the backstage.

It was not until Ozma played their very last song, that Jamie got his chance to talk to her. As they were packing up, Star idly stood there, as if waiting for someone else to take her keyboard from her. Sensing his cue, Jamie slowly approached and made small talk with her concerning the band's performance. Sensing how little time he had to spend with her however, Jamie, out of the blue, interjected, "so...do you wanna go to prom with me?"

Shocked by this very proposal, she instantly stared in Jamie's eyes, smiled, and then laughed a little bit in response. She then asked with a little confusion in her voice "Are you sure you want to go with me?" To which Jamie quickly retorted with, "Are you sure you don't want to go with me?" She then laughed once again and said that it would be impossible for her as she would be going to Cali the next day, thereby ending the tour. Jamie, not sensing any regret from this acknowledged her answer and decided to then just ask for her autograph. She signed the back of his driver's license with "Star *Hearts* Jamie*. It was almost as good as a prom date...somewhat.

Sensing a feeling of accomplishment, Jamie regailed his story to Rama and Terry soon after, to which upon hearing the end of it, Terry accused Jamie of "being a bitch". He would later apologize for such an accusation.

Trivia

Hoping to spur more from this encounter, Rama persuades Jamie to ask Star if she wants a drink of water as she looks "hot". She declines the offer and pulls out some bottled water instead. It was later postulated that this was probably wise on her part since one is not advised to take open drinks from strangers, especially scruffy-looking indian men.
