2nd panelist: i disagree, today we are working harder than ever with countries like the UK, Italy and eastern european nations in terms of trade and strenghtening their economies as they transition into the broad european market. furthermore, it's not within our interest to appease other nations' international policies when it comes to our own national security..

3rd panelist: uh...i guess i disagree with both of you cause the other day we went hiking up into the woods, and me, my dad and my brother went walking up this narrow trail, and you could tell that some kind of large creature had been walking through there because there were crushed branches and scattered foilage, also, it strayed from a previously blazed trail that followed up i'd say about a quarter of a kilometer southeast, where we had walked up earlier and saw from i'd say around 300 m. away a large black bear shaking a tree, possibly trying to down some its cubs or possibly some kind of small mammal that it was looking to eat, so after that we left and hiked up about another 3 km and came across this ravine that due to erosion gave way to a narrow cliff that my brother, my dad and I had to cross using some of the uncovered roots of the trees above us as ropes, where on the other side there was another additional kilometer or so of patchy trail that lead to a meadow which was clearly at one point a tree clearcut, so my brother dug out a couple of huge rocks and just rolled them down the hill, but on the way down they struck a couple of small saplings and just went "BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!" as they rolled further and further down until we couldn't see them anymore, and by that point...*continues to go on*

The Laughing Habits of Lukas are well documented and well experienced by all. These habits have likely always existed, but have taken a considerable turn towards the frequent in the last year or so.

Contents

Uses of Laughter

Lukas sometimes uses his method of uncontrolled laughter for many different purposes.

  • Deflecting/ignoring criticism of his actions
  • Expressing enjoyment of a statement or action by someone else
  • Normalizing air circulation throughout his body

As far as techniques go, it is useful to classify them into two methods:

  • Keeling over, or "bending over with laughter"--that is, Lukas gives either one sharp 90 degree bow while he has lost his breath from laughing, or he will repeat such bows successively until he has completed laughing.
  • Suppressed laughter -- Laughter that is either suppressed at will (that is, he has heard something that he may not find funny but must give a "courtesy chuckle" for), or he is trying to restrain himself from letting out uncontrollable chuckling that will likely attract unwanted public attention.

In Real Life

One manner in which Lukas is observed laughing a lot is when he remembers something humorous that happened in the past. That has happened so many times that it can be difficult todesignate any one instance as more notable than another. There are, however, some specific instances of Lukas being physically incapacitated with laughter due to his witnessing a humorous event. Examples:

  • The time when Jamie and Gavin slipped on their butts while running for a frisbee
  • Confusion over Yowie/YHWH Incident
  • The Victoria "Sasquatch" encounter
  • A video that surfaced in Winter 2005 during a viewing of the Cho Family tapes, where an 11th grade Brett is seen pretending to read a discarded newspaper and climbing into a freezer at a local supermarket. In the background, Lukas's laughter can be heard and he can be viewed in some scenes bending over with laughter.
  • Asher Dropping the Biscuit

On AIM

Lukas's online laughing habits are arguably as extensively archived as some of his memorable, real-life laughing outbursts. Starting in the summer of 2003, Lukas began a gradual shift toward uniformity in written laughter after the institution of the Separation of Ha and Ha. Shortly afterward, Lukas adopted a more lax policy of ha-appropriation, which lead some of his peers to "compete" for the most laughs. It is often wondered if Lukas has ever been cast into the fits of convulsive laughter noticeable in personal encounters while witnessing something he finds humorous online. Reports from the man himself have confirmed that he has, in fact, on numerous occasions been literally "bent over" with laughter.
