Stuart has become associated with this event. It occurred in 6th grade at a sleep-over for Stuart's birthday that began with us going down to the Washington Athletic Club to sit around, and then back to Stuart's. Stuart's dad was rumored to have said "And I hereby decree, there shall be no electronics tonight!" This was clearly unexpected by Stuart, and led to us sitting around and talking. A game of charades was enthusiastically proposed by Stuart's dad but fizzled quickly. Also, this day was substantial for how in the morning there was a strict system of bacon rationing.

Analysis

This incident helped secure Stuart's dad as an antagonistic and/or irrational personality, usually at the group's expense (though not without a later appreciation for the absurdity of such encounters). Remembered along with Where are All the Girls at?, That Morning Stuart's Dad Woke Lukas Up by Loudly Watching TV and Why Stuart was Banned from Watching the Simpsons as one of the more notable interactions with the man.

Trivia

On an related note, one of the kids at the birthday party later committed substantial e-bay fraud[1] and made the national news.
